Depuis quelques années la chaîne Sci-fi produit des téléfilms fantastiques, généralement de piètre qualité en raisons de leurs budgets ridicules et du peu de talent exploité pour leur réalisation. Ces films ne sont heureusement pas réservés qu'aux chanceux abonnés de la chaîne, on peut aussi les voir polluer les présentoirs des vidéoclubs et les pages de ventes de films à 1 euros de cdiscount. Skeletonman, Predatorman, Sharkman, Komodo vs Python, Cerberus et bien d’autres. A ne surtout pas confondre avec une autre série de Téléfilms estampillés Sci-fi, les creatures features de Stan Winston d’excellente facture.
Malgré cette qualitativement catastrophique production Sci fi remet le couvert pour cinq nouveaux films, sur le papier bien alléchants :
Hellhounds où des guerriers de l’antiquité grecque devront affronter les chiens de l’enfer d’Hadès avec Scot Elrod et Amanda Brooks, le tout sous la coupe de Ricky Shroder, mise en boite en Roumanie.
Rise of the Gargoyle où à Paris un célèbre auteur sera confronté à une gargouille reprenant vie avec Eric Balfour dirigé par Bill Corcoran, certainement pas vraiment tourné à Paris.
Alien Western où dans une petite ville du far west à la fin du 19eme des insectes mécaniques géants venus d’un autre monde foutent un gros bordel. Certainement pas tourné dans la vallée de la mort non plus.
Carney ou encore un film sur la légende du diable de Jersey, ça va être dur de faire mieux sur le sujet après la série X-files.
Sand Serpent où une compagnie de soldats américains doivent combattre, en Afghanistan, en plus de hordes de Talibans, des serpents carnivores géants venus des entrailles de la terre.
Bref tout un programme.

c'est vrai mais elle à son charme kitch et desuet tellement typique des eithies non ?
Oah ne soit pas si pessimiste, je suis comme toi j'adore Johnson.
Justement regarde avec quelle pertinence un matériau de base aussi merdique que Galactica-Larson a été ré interprété.
Avec cette génialissime idée et série de Kenneth Johnson qu’est V, il faudrait de très sérieux tacherons pour gâter le résultat.
Pour en revenir à Galactica, comble des combles, la nouvelle série a volée l’idée de l’enfant stellaire à la série V post Johnson…

ABC is developing a new adaptation of "V," the 1980s miniseries about alien lizards visiting Earth, reports Variety.
"V" spawned a second miniseries and TV spin-off — written by "The 4400" co-creator/executive producer Scott Peters.
Warner Bros. TV, which was behind the original, is once again producing the project, which was sold as a spec script to ABC.
Peters is set to executive produce, along with HDFilms principal Jace Hall.
The new "V" will center on Erica Evans, a Homeland Security agent with an aimless son who's got problems. When the aliens arrive, her son gloms on to them — causing tension within the family. As in the original "V," several storylines will unfold simultaneously.
As in the '80s version, the show will open with an enormous army of spaceships hovering over the world's major cities. The visitors say they've come to help Earth, but their motives are nefarious.

Un nouveau film de Catherine Hardwicke, ça traite tjrs des problèmes existentiels des adolescents mais cette fois-ci il y a des vampires et de l’action.
C’est aussi l’adaptation d’un best seller outre-atlantique de Stephenie Meyer.
Je ne suis plus très sûr mais je crois que certains membres du forum ont eu l’occasion de le voir et m’en ont dis le plus grand bien.

Q: You play a hero in "Ghostbusters" and a villain in this movie. Is it more fun playing a good guy or a bad guy? And what persuaded you to go back for the rumored "Ghostbusters 3"?Murray: Well, you're way ahead of me, but that's okay. There's someone trying to write a script for another "Ghostbusters" movie. There's two fellows from "The Office" that are writing a script, but I have yet to see it. And I'm more involved with, you know, trying to get the dessert we order at lunch than I am with the new "Ghostbusters" sequel. (Laughter) But it's possible. It's a great idea that they hired these two guys to do it, 'cause I think it could be a fresh look at it. And it could be funny. We did a sequel and it was rather unsatisfying for me, because the first one to me was 'the goods.' It was the real thing, and the sequel, you know, it was a few years later, and there was an idea pitched. They got us all together in a room. We just laughed for a couple of hours, and then they said, "What if we did another one? Here's an idea these guys have got." So they had this idea, but it didn't turn out to be the idea when I arrived on the set. They'd written a whole different movie. And the special effects guys got their hands on it, and it was just not the same movie. There were a few great scenes in it, but it wasn't the same movie. So there's never been an interest in a third "Ghostbusters" 'cause the second one was kind of disappointing, for me, anyway. But the third one could happen.
But you asked me a question about bein' a bad guy and a good guy. It's so much easier to be a bad guy. It's a piece a cake. It's a joke. (Laughter) And, you know, I keep saying, "Why do they give Oscars to guys that play bad guys," 'cause it's so simple. Play a good guy some time. That's hard. Play a really, decent good person. That's hard.
Q: So would you go back for "Ghostbusters" again?
Murray: Only if I could play an evil person. (Laughter) No, it's mostly all about the script. I don't have any obligation to the franchise or anyone. If the script were good and I thought we could do it, it'd be fun. But, you know, it's only now that this has ever been a prospect. No one's ever talked about it for a long time, 'cause the second one was the way it was. This is just kind of a clever idea. I think they see that, and the fact that every interview today has asked me about the "Ghostbusters" movie--every single person--means that there is some interest for it. You think you're talking about the "City of Ember," but I've answered as many questions about the "Ghostbusters" as I have about… well, not as many, but, I mean, on every single one. So there's interest in it.

Michael De Luca has partnered with Alison Rosenzweig and Michael Gaeta to develop a remake of the 1987 Mickey Rourke supernatural thriller Angel Heart, reports Variety.
Producers optioned remake rights from a private U.K. firm, which owns the rights to the original film, which was produced by Carolco and distributed by TriStar. De Luca, Rosenzweig and Gaeta also optioned the underlying book rights to William Hjortsberg's novel "Falling Angel," from which the original film was adapted.
The original, which caused a stir for its steamy sex scenes, was written and directed by Alan Parker and also starred Robert De Niro and Lisa Bonet.
The novel follows the exploits of Harry Angel, a New York detective hired by a mysterious client to track down a once-popular performer indebted to him. While pursuing this seemingly routine investigation, Harry encounters dark and supernatural forces.

C’est vrai que c’est étonnant de voir les gens comparer BW à d’autres films utilisant la même technique.
Il ne faut pas oublier qu’il ne s’agit pas d’un film en tant que tel (donc comme Cannibal holocaust, Rec ou Clovy).
Mais d’un concept artistique audiovisuel pur, aucun des films auxquels on peu comparer BW n’a été fait en lâchant 3 acteurs dans une forêt avec 2 cameras et 2 vagues consignes. Aucun réalisateur ayant utilisé cette technique n’a essayé de terroriser ses acteurs la nuit ou les a laisser sans nourriture et sans de quoi se laver pendant 15 jours.
Une sorte de croisement entre Koh-Lanta, Cannibal Holocaust et Délivrance. D’ailleurs on peut pousser le bouchon encore plus loin et se demander si Blair Witch ne constitue pas les balbutiements de la télé réalité.
En 99 quand Blair Witch explose comment peut on imaginer que des « gens de la télé » n’aient pas vu l’extraordinaire potentiel du rapport qualité/prix d’un tel concept ramener à la télévision ?
A la limite c'est pas plus pertinent de comparer BW à Loft Story ou la Star Ac’
c'est pas d'ailleurs tout le travail de fond d'un film comme Rec ? , une réflexion sur la perception de la technique de réalisation liée à la télé réalité ?

Kenneth Branagh to Direct Thor!

Kenneth Branagh is negotiating to direct Thor for Marvel Studios, reports Variety. The comic book adaptation is scheduled for a July 16, 2010 release.
Branagh is the latest in a string of directors -- such as Jon Favreau (Iron Man), Christopher Nolan (the Batman franchise) and Gavin Hood (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) -- with arthouse roots taking on big-budget comic book fare.
Marvel will set a distributor for Thor shortly.
Thor, written by Mark Protosevich, follows disabled medical student Donald Blake, who has an alter ego as the hammer-wielding Norse god Thor.

mais tu verras il y a deux versions sur le double dvd,
l'une d'elle est la roughprint ou workprint et elle n'a pas de st du tout
c'est juste un peu chiant du coup, l'image de cette version n'etant déjà pas tip top non plus

c'est les années 80 en dessin animé
mon père m'a loué ce bijoux, croyant que c'était un DA pour enfant en 82 ou 83
du coup il a instantanément créé un fan de Blondy, Iggy Pop et Lou Reed.
Dans la démarche au niveau musical autant que dans le récit ça ressemble beaucoup à Phantom of the Paradise.
Le style est particulier et à mon avis n'a pas vieilli, moins que métal Hurlant ou les Bashki de la même époque.
Difficile d'avoir un avis objectif tant ce métrage m'a marqué
l'édition dvd Z1 canadienne est un must pour les amateurs.
En tout cas à découvrir sans hésitation

c'est terrible mais je pense qu'ils vont jouer à fond la carte de la "European new wave of horror movies"
genre l'orphelinat, Darkness, les autres etc...
excusez moi si je les met un peu tous dans le même panier
Un comble qu'ils aient même pas la volonté d'inventer ou créer un autre style, quelque chose de différent, alors que c'est quand même tout l'interet de racheter une "franchise" pareil.
Bref qui vivra verra

September 22: Alex de la Iglesia talks his new TV seriesFollowing his TV debut with the telemovie THE BABY’S ROOM (part of the 6 FILMS TO KEEP YOU AWAKE that hit U.S. DVD recently via Lionsgate), Spanish genre specialist Alex de la Iglesia returns to the medium with PLUTÓN VERBENERO, which he describes as “the first ever sci-fi sitcom made in Spain.” Comprised of 26 35-minute episodes, PLUTÓN kicks off in the year 2530 as Macaulay Culkin III, President of the United States of the World, sends Pluton BRB Nero, a starship crewed by Spaniards under the command of Space Marine Valladares, on an intergalactic quest to find an inhabitable planet after every square inch of the Earth’s surface has been built over by property developers.
Episode one is scheduled to hit the airwaves September 24 on Spain’s public channel TVE2—and it has taken the director of such notable features as THE DAY OF THE BEAST and LA COMUNIDAD some three years to get this far. “TVE2 isn’t paying much,” he tells Fango, “but they’ve allowed me total freedom, and they accepted scripts that would never have been greenlighted by any other [free terrestrial] channel. They’re all so paranoid about losing their audience share to go with anything remotely transgressive.”
PLUTÓN VERBENERO’s cast includes well-known Spanish small-screen performers Antonio Gil, Carlos Areces, Enrique Martinez, Manuel Tallafé and the only female on board, Carolina Bang (who plays an android). The title is a play on words: Putón is a form of puta, meaning prostitute, and the expression Putón Verbenero (from verbena—dancing in the streets) is a pejorative term for a “loose” woman; Pluton is the planet Pluto. Inevitably, the show’s details conjure up memories of de la Iglesia’s debut feature ACCIÓN MUTANTE, which was a big hit in 1993 and pretty much kick-started the modern resurgence in Spanish genre filmmaking. TVE2’s promo trailer (with the voiceover “Their mission is to save mankind. The question is, who will save us from them?”) bears more than a passing resemblance to MUTANTE’s sets and props, while the scenario sounds like more in the same vein.
De la Iglesia shared script duties on PLUTÓN VERBENERO with longtime creative partner Jorge Guerricaechevarría as well as Pepón Montero and Juan Maidagan—two of the writing team behind the hit TV comedy CAMERA CAFÉ. He promises “embarrassing situations, absurd sets, ridiculous aliens, gratuitous ray-gun massacres, totally unrealistic characters and situations and, above all, absolutely no twee, lovey-dovey family relationships or funny kids!” —Mike Hodges
