A masked freedom fighter is at the centre of a David and Goliath legal struggle as a small film company sues Hollywood giants Sony Pictures and Tri-Star Entertainment over the ownership of Zorro. Filing suit at the US District Court in Los Angeles, Sobini Films and its subsidiary Maroda Inc claim that that they have acquired the rights to Johnston McCulley's 1919 source novel The Curse of Capistrano and plan to install its swashbuckling hero in a sci-fi extravaganza, entitled Zorro 2110. Sony, meanwhile, insists that it owns exclusive licence to develop all Zorro-based material. Sony collaborated with Tri-Star Entertainment on the 1998 blockbuster The Mask of Zorro and is currently putting the finishing touches to a sequel, The Legend of Zorro, due for release in October. If the lawsuit fails, it seems that Zorro 2110 will never see the light of day Mais rassurez-vous, car la denière update de l'imdb date du 22 juin dernier et annonce le film en préproduction... et c'est l'heureuse réalisatrice du film #1 au Bottom 100 de l'imdb (très très belle performance!!!) avec MATERIAL GIRLS, qui est sur le point de nous pondre cette version futuriste du renard justicier sur un scénar de Stevie Long (STARSKY & HUTCH).
