    Pas revu depuis une projo au festival de Neuchâtel en 2000, et j'en garde un souvenir jouissif de sale gosse braillard. Il va falloir que je me farcisse le DVD un de ces jours, je pense qu'il le mérite ce petit salopiod de film.

     

    Au fait, il devient quoi Mendez ?

    Très bon, très tordu, très sale, très étouffant, très glauque par moment (l'humiliation de la femme par deux trognes dégueulasses), très drôle aussi (le vieux qui envoie pêtre le vendeur d'alarme)... un film d'auteru gentiment trashos et en même temps touchant. A voir absolument.

    L'avis de Robert Monell, journaliste respecté et fan de Franco, décrit le film comme étant le IL ETAIT UNE FOIS DANS L'OUEST du film d'horreur... si ça donne pas envie ! son avis laissé sur le forum du Club des Monstres : [quote]The actual title is George A. LAND OF THE DEAD opens with the 1930s UNIVERSAL studio logo, a biplane circling a globe and proceeds from there to present a kind of post-post modern collage of horror-fantasy cinema including the bleak black and white atmospherics of 1950s B horror (evoked in the opening credits), the TWILIGHT ZONE era, THREE Michael Jackson music videos, the filmography of Lucio Fulci (it's as gory as any of Fulci's classics but with excellent, state of the art special make up FX), B western serials, classic horror comics, OF MICE AND MEN, BLADE RUNNER visuals, Sam Peckinpah style cynicism, wrapping it all up with no less than Asia Argento, the daughter of the man who coproduced and coscored DAWN OF THE DEAD, Dario Argento. In a way, since it's a coproduction, it his Eurohorror panel of his ongoing epic, in which each film is a separate chapter. This is a frenetic, bipolar, highly complicated sprawl of ultraviolence and socio-political allegory. The living are reduced to a swarming lower class surrounding a glass highrise protecting a chosen Elite from the ever growing underclass of cannibal zombies. Dennis Hopper portrays the man who sits in the tower making life and death decisions while planning his own escape. The hero and his company take on morose hooker Asia on a suicide mission. The ending is predicatable and somewhat painful but the stunningly artful carnage and irony of getting there are more important. This is obviously Romero's biggest budgeted film ever and a bid for a place in the mainstream. He might not get it and the film seems somewhat compromised for a present demand for hopeful endings and room for sequels. Romero was cheated but he doesn't cheat his fans and remains true to himself while continuing to work. The zombies here are becoming more and more human, trying to be like US, mowing lawns, working at jobs, taking walks; while the surviving humans are becoming somewhat subhuman through desperation, greed, fear. The message seems to be that violence rules and you have to get tough or leave town. My favorite character was the filling station zombie who leads the undead on their righteous quest against Hopper's Mr. Greed. Dennis Hopper seems to have lost the ability to deliver a line of dialogue while Asia Argento seems very uncomfortable amid the ever increasing gore quotient, she should take legal action against her costumer, hair designer and make up person. She's an electrifying presence in THE STENDHAL SYNDROME but this film won't help her US career. Flawed, intensely surreal, and full of zombie movie cliches, most of them created by Romero himself, LAND OF THE DEAD is something like THE ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST of horror movies. Every scene,character, line of dialogue, effect has been seen before but is now blown up to gigantic proportions by an artist who has delivered a hyperdetailed canvas of a world he would he must obsessively evoke, then destroy, then recreate in his own image.[/quote]

    Je ne savais pastrop dans quel forum parler de ce... cette... ce truc. Mais celui-ci me semble être le plus approprié

     

    Imaginez Blanche-Neige (Zabou) en jolie libertine à la recherche d'un prince charmant à la bourre (Lhermitte) entourrée d'un petit chaperon rouge qui se ballade à moitié à poil pendant quasiment tout le film (et elle peut se le permettre ). Elle est aidée par une bureaucratie de fées fumant la clope et évoluant dans des locaux informatisés. Martin Lamotte joue un hideux petit poucet fort lettré, la grand mère du chaperon rouge oblige son amant à se déguisé en loup, Clavier joue le rôle du fourbe borgne au service de la méchante reine, Tarzan débarque d'on ne sait trop où histoire de faire rire l'audience, Cosette s'en prend plein la gueule par Valjeau (Roland Giraud), Coluche fait un caméo, un car de touristes japonais excitent Blanche Neige qui leur court après en hurlant "Des nains !!!"....

     

    Pareil visionnement ne laisse pas indemne et je dois bien avoir perdu 3 point de QI au terme de celui-ci. Le pire c'est qu'à part Cosette qui se fait propulser dans la fenge et les seins du petit chaperon rouge, il n'y a pas grand chose de recommandable dans cette vaste bouillabesse paillarde à consommer avec un calendos bien dégoulinant et une topette de rouge coupé à l'anti-gel.

    Nico B, le réalisateur du court métrage undeground PIG a récemment réalisé BETTY PAGE: DARK ANGEL, portant sur les 3 dernières années de la belle.

     

    Un avis pas positif du tout sur imdb

     

    This movie was bad beyond belief. I saw it during the 2004 San Francisco Film Festival. Before it started the owner of the theatre got up and told us how half the audience had left the theatre the night before, which happened to be its "world premiere." I don't think anyone in the theatre understood just how bad the movie was going to be at that point. We all understood by the end.

     

    Its not a documentary though it was sort of sold as one. Dark Angel was a bad biography and misguided homage to Bettie Paige, in which half the movie is actually just remakes of old Bettie Paige movies. The movie is only 90 minutes long and the content of those 90 minutes is sub par to say the least. A scene would start going then someone would say "wow you're so great Bettie, why don't we make another movie." this would be followed by a 5 minutes of a Bettie Paige remake which was almost as ridiculous as (and even more boring than) the normal part of the movie. by the end of the movie people were laughing every time another Bettie Paige movie remake came up. it was that ludicrous. I heard a lot of laughter in that theatre, but people were not laughing with the movie maker, they were laughing at the movie and its poor content and structure. This was easy to tell as the parts that would get the most laughs were the ones which were supposed to be serious or revelatory.

     

    I know movies are expensive. I have seen many cheaply made independent films but somehow the cinematography and quality of this movie set it apart from anything else I have ever seen. The movie looks like it was made for $12. The cuts, the graininess, and the lack of a sensual plot made this a memorable experience. This movie makes "Dude, Where's My Car?" look like Citizen Kane.

     

    My friends and I left the theatre feeling like we had just paid 8 dollars to be tortured. The only redeeming part of the experience was that we got to laugh about the fact that someone had actually made this movie and thought it was good. Apparently, the previous night, the night of the "world premiere" the director/writer/producer had been in the audience and had gotten to witness people laugh at and walk out on his movie. Bettie Paige's movies were destroyed. They should destroy this movie too.

    et ce chef d'oeuvre magnifique du western italien que tu oses salir de la sorte, je me dis que tout ne va pas bien dans ta petite tête et que tu devrais arrêter d'écouter Superwonderscope !!!

    On rigole on rigole bien sûr, contrairement à Draven, il y a des films qu'on apprécie tous les deux: SUPERSONIC MAN, PSYCHOTRONIC MAN, VICIOUS LIPS.... des classiques quoi

    C'est dingue, je crois que ça fait des mois que je n'ai pas lu une de tes critiques et que je puisse dire que je suis d'accord avec toi

     

    Alors entre un QUARTIER DE FEMMES minabillissime dans lequel tu arrives à trouver des éléments "décadents" et ce chef d'oeuvre magnifique du western italien que tu oses salir de la sorte, je me dis que tout ne va pas bien dans ta petite tête et que tu devrais arrêter d'écouter Superwonderscope - la preuve, tu en arrives même à dire du mal de Castellari sur d'autres thread

     

    Tout ça pour dire qu'il ne faut pas écouter Draven, ce film est une perle !!!

    Qt à cette facon qu'a Castellari de tjs placer des objets devant sa camera comme le fait remarquer SWS.. j'y vois surtout ds Keoma une facon symbolique de montrer la confusion qui régne en Keoma.. tout est obstrué en lui comme ds ct univers.

    je pense plutot que cela sert plutot à tenter d'apporter de la profondeur de champ à un film qui en manque singulièrement. C'est purement technique. Et pas narratif.

     

    Dans ce cas, tout est prétexte à tout et lachez les monstres! Les ralentis à outrance, c'est donc pour montrer qu'il pense plus lentement que tout le monde!

     

     

    Ca s'appelle de l'art ça monsieur, et ce n'est pas Mr. Klaus qui va me contredire vu qu'il n'y connaît que dalle
