bloknotise
Speciale dedicace à Allan source Fangoria : July 11: French chiller MALEFIQUE to get U.S. remake Variety reports that Paramount, continuing to cement its standing as the House of Remakes, has bought a pitch for a U.S. version of the French horror film MALEFIQUE from screenwriter John Pogue, with Original Films’ Neal Moritz and Ori Marmur attached to produce. The original movie (pictured), directed by Eric Valette and acclaimed at numerous international festivals, is about four strangers sharing a prison cell who discover a book of black magic hidden in one of the walls. They try to use it in an attempt to escape, and things go very badly from there. No director for the American version has been attached yet, and sadly, the French movie has yet to secure U.S. distribution, though it is available on overseas DVD. Moritz’s credits include the I KNOW WHAT YOU DID… and URBAN LEGEND movies, along with the TINGLER and PROM NIGHT reduxes currently in the works for Columbia, while Pogue wrote THE SKULLS and co-scripted the ROLLERBALL remake and GHOST SHIP. —Michael Gingold http://www.fangoria.com/news_article.php?id=4361
